South Nottingham College (SNC)
South Nottingham College has over 15,000 learners. It has an outstanding reputation in the Greater Nottingham area particularly for the delivery of successful outcomes for young people aged 14-16 and post-16.
The College is committed to raising the skills base across the conurbation by ensuring a focus on quality of provision and delivery to raise educational attainment in young people.
The College is recognised as a key player in developing the skills of the workforce in areas that meet both local and regional demands, for example it owns and runs the state of the art East Midlands Centre for Automotive Training (EMCAT). It also has a proven track record of working with schools and other agencies to broaden learning opportunities within a truly inclusive learning environment that ensures all students are safe, happy, healthy and achieve. South Nottingham College works closely with other providers to contribute to improved performance for young people across Greater Nottingham and to reduce the number of young people who are not in education or employment with training.
South Nottingham College merged with another College of Further Education in Nottingham (Castle College) on July 1st which sees the creation of the largest FE provider in the East Midlands.

The South Nottingham College mission is simply ‘Success through Learning’. The key to achieving this mission are the College values: Achievement, Learner Centred, Diversity, Participation, Quality, Learning, Financial Strength and Valuing Staff. The College ethos is ‘putting the learners first’ and this runs from the Corporate Board through Senior Management to individual Teachers/Lecturers.
As a sponsor we will ensure that we would apply the same principles to all aspects of Academy operation.
Our new Academy will provide a culture of commitment to high standards of education, both academic and vocational, delivered within a happy, caring and supportive environment.
